Description I live in Ohio, so I am not really familiar with life around the ocean and I have to admit that I was surprised to see groups of pelicans flying together. I know Canada Geese do this, but I thought their formations were unique. So when I saw these birds flying in formation, my soccer-loving mind went immediately to a soccer team . . . that back one is the goalie, of course. It seems these birds are dirty birds and have had two players ejected from the game....thus playing with only nine. . . . and so the manager has gone with the very unusual 2-3-2-1 formation for the rest of the game. This is a very daring formation as it is very attack minded and not very defensively sound. . . . but they are going to try it! They are brave to try it . . . maybe even foolhardy . . . . but then again, pelicans are not known for their great soccer tactics!
Karen Adams, Delaware, Ohio Member Since November 2011 Artist Statement I have always loved making art. In college it was painting and ceramics that held my interests, but through the years, photography has become my main focus (no pun intended!) This has combined with a love of gardening, then an interest in the gorgeous butterflies that were my companions out in the sunshine. So now, I would like to share the beauty I live with in my backyard garden in Ohio.
